Strykers Set for Official Launch of Soccer in 60 Radio Show
Weekly program to air on KMET ABC News every Thursday afternoon
Ontario, Calif. — The Empire Strykers of the Major Arena Soccer League (MASL) today announced the official launch of Soccer in 60, their weekly audio program covering the local pro soccer scene and more. The hour-long show, which airs on KMET ABC News every Thursdays from 4 to 5 p.m. PT, is hosted by Tim Kolacz and is likely to feature a rotation of guest hosts. In addition to serving up regular insight into the Strykers, Kolacz and company aim to highlight the region's other elite clubs, with occasional discussions of the U.S. national teams and international news sprinkled in.
While the MASL is in season, Soccer in 60 will keep its listeners in the loop with regular appearances from Empire players as well as members of the front office and technical staff, including Head Coach Paul Wright. During the offseason, the show will focus even more heavily on the LA Galaxy, LAFC, Angel City FC, and Orange County SC.
“We look forward to giving folks access to intriguing conversations as well as guests from all the teams representing our area at the highest levels of the sport,” remarked Kolacz, who offers a unique perspective after serving as a soccer referee in Greater Los Angeles for years. “By hosting the program, I get to stay involved in the beautiful game. It's a thrilling way to spend part of my week, and I hope the audience enjoys tuning in as much as I enjoy doing it.”
Soccer in 60, which has seen some format tweaks since its “soft launch” a few weeks ago, is presented by the Strykers and several other partners. Among them is Rancho Cucamonga-based National CORE, the country's third-largest provider of affordable housing.
“We're excited to sponsor a show that helps drive awareness of the Strykers as one of the great assets of the Inland Empire,” said Jill Van Balen, National CORE's senior vice president of marketing and communications. “It's great to see how engaged the team is with the community, especially given how many diverse cultures and stories are represented among the players, who hail from all around the world.”
In addition to airing in audio form on the radio and the KMET ABC News website (www.kmet1490am.com) and app, the Strykers' weekly look at the MASL, MLS, NWSL, USL Championship, and beyond will be simulcast via video through the station's website. The KMET ABC News website is also the place to go for past episodes of the program. Host Tim Kolacz may be reached via email at tim@soccerin60.com.
