STARS OPEN WEEKEND DOUBLE-HEADER VS HEAT WITH 8-4 WIN
KENT, WA. - The Stars (3-8-3) needed a win against Harrisburg (2-9-1) Friday night at the accesso ShoWare Center and that's just what they got with an 8-4 final score in the first of two weekend games against the Heat. The win brings them four points behind Dallas for the eighth playoff spot with Tacoma holding two games in hand over the Sidekicks.
Tacoma received offensive production from nine different players, including two-goal performances from Nick Perera, Kyle Rivers, and Tyler John. Perera added an assist to lead all scorers with three points on the night. Micheal Ramos and Fellipe Souza also posted a goal each as the Stars tied their season-high of eight goals.
Malcolm Harris and Mike Da-Silva led the way for Harrisburg with a pair of goals each in the losing effort. Heat goalkeeper Hugo Silva stopped 14 shots as his record fell to 2-8-1 on the season.
The defense was key for the Stars and they held the Heat to just 12 shots on goal for the game and winning goalkeeper Chris Toth only needed six saves to secure the victory. He also added an assist on offense.
