Sockers Roll Express
Brandon Escoto scored two goals and six other Sockers tallied to lead San Diego (5-1) to an 8-1 victory over the winless Turlock Express (0-7) at the Turlock Indoor Center. After allowing the first goal of the game at 1:58, San Diego scored eight unanswered goals to secure the win. Boris Pardo made six saves to improve his record to 5-1 and lower his GAA to 3.`33.
Turlock's opening goal was the first time the Sockers had trailed in the first quarter all season long. San Diego has only trailed for a total of 7:09 out of a total of 404:53.
Escoto (2-1=3), who extended his point streak to six games, started the Sockers onslaught with his first marker at 4:23 of the first quarter. Chad Hagerty, Ze Roberto, Eddie Velez, Taylor Bond, Travis Pittman, Christian Gutierrez added goals to increase the lead to 7-1, before Escoto closed out the half for an 8-1 lead.
San Diego cruised in the second half by playing ball control offense and staunch defense.
Leading scorer Kraig Chiles (8-4=12) and several others did not make the trip to Turlock to prepare for tomorrow's game against the Ontario Fury at Ron Newman Field at Pechanga Arena San Diego.
